Getting Started: Practical First Steps
You don't need to understand the technical details of how AI works to implement Team in the Loop thinking. You do need to apply the collaboration principles you already use for any major organizational change:
Communicate early and often. Before implementing AI tools, talk with your teams about what problems you're trying to solve and how AI might help. Listen to their concerns and ideas.
Map your ecosystem. Identify everyone who touches the process AI will affect—directly or indirectly. Make sure they have a voice in implementation.
Create feedback channels. Establish clear, easy ways for team members to report issues, ask questions, and suggest improvements with AI systems.
Define roles clearly. Help everyone understand what AI will handle, what humans will handle, and who's responsible for what.
Start small and learn. Pilot AI in one area with a committed team before rolling out broadly. Engage early adopter and less eager team members to solicit feedback. Use their experience to refine your approach.
